outside air temp

i tried to search this but couldnt find what i was looking for. i want to hook up the outside air tempature in the rearview mirror, my truck is a 99 sle sierra. i have the compass already and the display will flash a tempature reading of 100 when i start the truck, so do i have a compatable mirror and what do i need to make the tempature reading work?

You have told us enough information. Useful info would include:
Stock/factory mirror?
Stock/factory mirror wire harness?

If yes to both of above you probably just need to recalibrate to mirror. Factory owners manual should do it.

If no to one or both you will need to determine the brand of mirror and seek calibrating procedures from that vendor.

There is no calibration for temperature that I'm aware of.

farmerkeene - did you recently add this mirror or did the truck come with it? the compass is built into the mirror housing and the temp. sensor is mounted behind the grill.

the truck came with this mirror. factory. i dont see a sensor or harness out on the front core support either. shouldnt there be a tempature button on the mirror next to the compass and dimmer button?
