Ive never heard of anyone being dropped because of having a lifted truck.

Why are they taking pictures of it anyway?

they take pics to send to company to prove the condition of truck no dents ect. every time you get new pol.

I don't know the whole game, but it's not uncommon for an insurance company to require pics of any modified vehicle so that they know what they're covering. Personally, the only time I've been asked for pics is when I was making a claim.

If you have more than one vehicle on the road you could maybe look into some kind of "show car" policy for the lifted truck. My buddy has his monte SS on some sort of policy like that and i know the insurance is pretty cheap. The monte is definately not a lited truck but i know there are companies that write policies specically for stuff like that.

In Michigan its called a lecher vehicle. But you have to say you only drive x amount of miles a year and the x amount is very low. Nice for non dd’s. I use that on my monte durin the summer.

I have many buddies here that have lifted trucks and never had any problems.

I've got a 3in body lift, and my insurance company looked at my truck and didnt ask if it was lifted or anything. So yeah i ended up wreaking it and insurance paided everything including the front bumper relocators, which took them a week to get ahold of

When I was thinking of lifting mine I asked my agent hypothetically if I lift mine what will it change. All he said was "as long as your not going up too high you'll be ok. Like a foot or so. I just don't want to know about it." Point taken.

My company (State Farm) could care less. Heck, they even cover my race trailer and all the contents, including the dragster, when I am towing it. My agent even told me once he liked the stance of my '97 (has a 3/5 drop) and was surprised to find out my HD isn't lifted.

I’ve never had any problems, I used to have American family(have progressive now) and I totaled my 98 ecsb. It had aal, crank and a 2" body with 315's with a bunch of other mods. They covered everything. Even the aftermarket wheels that they just put towards the value of the vehicle. The only thing they asked about was my air intake was missing. I just said I didn’t know what happened to it, I just ripped the fipk off before they got there:middle: and detuned with the hypertech and they cut me a check.

State Farm told me that as long as I don't go crazy with lifting (6" was fine) my coverage rates wouldn't change. I'm only paying about 700 a year for full coverage on mine. The only thing the insurance company stipulated was that I had to keep receipts for all the stuff I've done to it. No receipts or proof of what was spent, no reimbursement.

My insurance company (AmericanExpress) didnt know my jeep cherokee was lifted until I hit a deer and they sent an appraiser out to the body shop to look at it. They weren't too happy to learn it was lifted and they said the trimmed fenders were "previous damage" and wouldn't cover it. I didn't care about that, but then they tried to say I was offroading and hit a tree eventhough I had blood and fur all over my busted bumper and grill :whatever:

700 a year? If your younger than 25, your truck must not be in your name.

Theres a bunch of different stipulation, but it also depends on the policy to. I believe the stricter they are the cheaper they are. I know my friends policy on his monte SS doesnt have much if any of a restriction on miles, but it has to be kept in a garage. Another buddy of mines dad has a couple old ramblers on a classic car policy of some sort, and his have mileage restrictions, your only supposed to drive it to shows/parades and for repairs. He just used to say if i ever get into an accident ill say i was going to the muffler shop to get a quote on some work, or to the body shop to have a dent or scratch looked at. I would say the best thing you can do is call some different insurance companies and look into it.

Gotta love the age discrimination! I went from 1500 a year approx, to 700 and change on my 25th a while ago. Perfect driving record for the last 3 years also helped (don't ask about farther back than 3 years though :twak: ) I couldn't believe the difference. My wife drives an 01 Mini SUV type vehicle and her insurance is more than double what mine is for a brand new lifted truck with a higher center of gravity, more hp, and much higher replacement cost... insurance companies....
