View Full Version : i want just alittle more sound

Getting my '97 chevy 5.7vortec 2500 lifted so it will also need to be heard. I have heard so many trucks with duals and they all sound the same. My dad has 3chamber flowmasters on his '67chevy SS 327 and it sounds awesome but it would be to loud on my truck. I want something with just a bit of sound. I want to be driving normal and not be annoyed by them inside the cab. Also when does exhaust hurt the mpg? I would like to keep it the same or improve it.
How does Magnaflow and Borla compare? Are they what I am looking for? I also want to go 45 deg pipes on each side in back of the tires.

I would go w/ the Magnaflow for price reasons. I've heard they don't have too much in cab resonance. The Borla's are excellent but pricey. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

A friend of mine is running Magnaflows on a 97 or 98 Tahoe..... Sounds good, but it will be at about the same noise level as Flows. My pipes are very quiet on closed throttle to sneak by, but really open up with you go wide open.
MagnaFlow gets my vote.

I think you should get the flowmaster 50. People will know that your there but the resonance won't be really annoying inside the cab.
