HID lights?

So for my English class I have to wright an essay on a law that I don't agree with. I have chosen the HID lights and I'm saying they can be street legal. Does anyone out there who actualy have these set up on the truck give me a little informatoin on them. Also if you think there is a better law I should wright about let me know.

HID's are street legal if they are factory equiped so I don't think your agument will be a strong one unforunately. Sure there are aftermarket kits but they shouldn't ever really be legalized due to people just slapping them into non HID housings causing massive amounts of glare and just becoming a road hazzard to others.

Now before I go to far, I DO have aftermarket HID kits on both of my trucks BUT, I made SURE my headlights caused no extra glare, I re-aimed both sets and checked with family members after I drove past them to make sure it was still safe. I lucked out with headlamps that didn't really cause anymore glare but lots there are lots of vehicles out there that just cause crazy beam patterns when HID's are installed....

Anyways, why don't you do something along the lines of trucks being lowered, or lift laws? Many states ban this when in reality the vehicles are just as safe (if done correctly)

But really it's no different than joe nobody welding his coil spring on his wife's car because it cracked....unsafe suspension can be stock or modified....maybe the vehicle inspections can take care of that.

i have HIDs in the low beams and high beams and fog lights ... i purposely point them up to blind people (i think its hilarious when people are like wtf are those lights turn them off) and have been pulled over for having really bright HIDS... never gotten a ticket since i keep the reciepts for them in my car ... they are street legal in FL and i think they are the best thing... heres a pic

although i agree that this guy isn't the bright bulb on the tree, this approach isn't really going to work. It will just add fuel to the fire. For this guy it's going to take a life changing experience...something is going to go terribly wrong for him and then he'll wish he had listened to friendly advice.

Although I hope you are wrong, but that is probably true. Or he will just blame it elsewhere and continue on. SC has a "fetish" about lights for whatever reason (some good, some bad). Brings it here, he won't leave with them that way.

sorry to say lights do not ruin the fun people doing doughnuts and racing and speeding in and out of traffic ruin fun ... im not the only one with blinding HIDs im sorry to say ... most after market HIDs are really bright and blind most people ... same thing as driving with ur high beams because your low beams suck ... HIDs are supposed to be for off road use only ... so then why do most people in this forum have them??? mine are pointing a bit higher then the rest but ur HIDs still blind people so by buying HIDs ur adding to the unsafe road conditions ...

by saying that...if you're not trying to fix the problem, you're adding to it...not only are you adding to it, you are encouraging it. and in one of you're first posts you stated that you had them angled up and to the left so that you can blind oncoming traffic...bottom lineangle your lights back towards the road in front of your truck :read:
