ok there is always people asking what harness to get for 03+ chevy's. I prefer the cheap one metra # 99-2003 this harness takes the place of the expensive one which can run 100+ depends which one you get, the only difference between the two is that you will lose your door chimes, and the R.A.P. feature, retained accesory power, which is just a relay that keeps the radio on for a couple minutes if you don't open the door after shutting off the vehicle.

The only catch is that you have to run a new acc wire to your new deck you can get it from a fuse or from where I do, this thick brown wire is under the steering column to the left running to the fuse box, I use this acc wire to hardwire satellite radios, radar detectors and so on,

now for you guys with a Bose system that want to get rid of the factory head unit and keep the Bose you can do this too. All you have to do is remeber to power up the amp turn on wire usually pink or dark green just hook it up to the blue/white coming off your new deck and your thats it,

hope this helps somebody I think its better than spending a 100+ bucks on something you don't really need just remember you will lose your door chime and maybe your onstar if equipped.

you WILL use your onstar if equipped. Nice write up NTL. There is also some pins sticking out in your fuse box on the side of the dash, one of those is also accessory. (Some trucks have those pins, some dont)
