Been contemplating trying to fab up a mount for my sirius replay radio. I've got a headunit that has an aux input so I'm gonna hardwire it since i hate the fm transmitter. But anyhow my idea is this: The opening for my tape player down below is almost the perfect size for the radio to be mounted from the behind and have all the controls accessible. Has anyone tried anything like this? If not, what do you think would be the best way?

Sirius makes a custom installation kit which will allow you to mount the unit in a single din opening. I realize the tape area is a bit smaller, but you could buy the kit and trim it down. The kit allows the unit to be flush mounted.
I am running the Starmate Replay.
A little tip on the hardwire deal. When I wired mine I picked up alot of electrical interference. I believe it's due to the 12v power and rca output connections being so close. If you experience this interference, go to radio shack and get a ground loop isolator. this solved my problem and now I'm noise free..
