Ok the **** Shacka.k.a The Hack Shack is going to run hard line from my comp to my tank. I have a 5 gallon tank and a Viair 450. The reason is because I blew my first 450 and the second 1 blew teh steel braided line also. So they are gonna run hard line, what do you guys think? Is it reliable? Will it break? I am just a litlle skeptical.

Hard line is fine AS LONG AS ITS NOT COPPER !!
Copper word hardens and WILL crack and leak. Stainless is just fine.

I recently did this for a customer. I got a 36" long piece of 3/8 SS braided line with ends for under $30. It is rated to 300 degrees and 3000 psi. That should end any problems:D

My 3/8" hardline has been doing fine for me so far. Sometimes it can be annoying trying to get it not to leak any at the valves and fittings because you have to have the angle of the line going in there perfect.

Rev....I still don't understand how your blowing the steel braided line..that stuff is supposed to be able to handle the pressure and the heat. How exactly is it "blowing"? I'm curious.

I really dont know, my pressure switch is only at like 125-145 and it is not like I am on it all teh time. The first time it broke was because tehy had teh hose at a hard angle right out of the tank I think that is what did it. I dont have a clue how they broke it the second time because I wasnt even there. THey said this is the 4th comp recently they have had to replace, tehy dont know what is happening either.

I have copper lines on my truck, and have had no problem's with it. It has not oxidized "doesn't copper take a few years to turn green, I know it get kinda brown looking, but not green". Plus with my experince using copper, it has a little give, but stainless doesn't, I belive if it bends it usally cracks?. If copper was all that bad, then it wouldn't be used for hot water in the house, and used in chemical plants. I am not trying to be a d**k I just don't think stainless, is a better option than copper on air sus.. Of course that is just me.

The brown look is what we're talking about. Copper is the uglyest thing that can be used in an airsuspension. I had some polish that brought back the shine for about a day or two, but it still looks bad. As far as copper being used for plumbing in buildings it's two differant applications. I've seen stainless hardline used on street rods and it looks 1000xs better. It costs a helluva lot more, and is harder to work with but it won't leak over time. Braided line is a big improvment aswell, and when I can afford to redo my truck that's the way I'm going.

I agree Braided line would be great, just not the cost. My copper lines don't show......... are yours in a spot were everyone can see them? I agree that if your line show's and you have a clean truck, then it will look like s**t. All my lines are tucked in the frame rails.... and the only one who see's them are me when I get under it. Oh well to each his own.
