What are the BEST Tires for a 4X4 in winter, Narrow or Wide?

Narrow will cut through the snow down to pavement (supposedly), wide will ride on top. My philosophy is that the less surface area I have in contact with a slippery surface, the better. Whichever philosophy you prefer, narrower is better for snow.

Yeah narrow is the way to go in the snow. If its really icey underenath then also something soft if possible. My buddy has 11.5 inch blizzacks on his truck and they never slide and here in Alaska that is impressive.
