I have a slight tear on my leather steering wheel on my 95 GMC truck. Its in the 12 o'clock position and you dont feel it except on turns. Anyone know of a way to patch, repair, or glue this torn area. Anyone ever used the leather repair kit I have seen in the part stores? I have tried a cover, but didnt like the way it felt as it made my wheel too big in diameter.

I wore a hole in mine there too and put a section of the old perforated steering wheel cover over the top section only. (from 10 to 2) It does make the wheel thicker but there's no other whay to do it that I've found. I'll try and post a picture in a day or two.

I used to work at www.american-stitches.com (http://www.american-stitches.com)
They make replacement OEM steering wheel covers, plus they also can upgrade the OEM wheel with wood or a paint match. Check out the website.
If I remember correctly, they still had a bunch of 95-97 core wheels avalaible. Give them a call. 888.403.3403.
