I messed around and cleared my needles and painted the base silver this weekend. This is with the stock bulbs and they are brighter than the camera makes them look. I have white leds on order right now

I also ordered some floormats to go with my blue/tan interior. Llyod dark blue with tan bowtie. Soon to have new katzkin seats with blue inserts and blue suede headliner to finish it up.

check out the matching carseat :rocking:

only problem is that I have a stealthbox under the seat and the rear carpet is made for trucks without a speaerbox. I may have to cut it or try to make it fit under the box :dunno:

ok, just wondering if the clearing the needles works on a nbs. i took mine off and it appears that they are made of orange tinted plastic. am i wrong?

If you cut the carpet take it to a carpet store to get "Bound" (sp?) if you don't it will keep falling apart.

well thats what i gather from it. but when i took mine off and looked at it from the side the plastic itself looked to be colored. well ill try it, ill let yall know if it works or not.

Scrape the back with a flat razor, then repaint whatever color you want. I would think nail polish remover could melt/damage the plastic.

well see the thing is its a nbs. this truck that he done it to was a obs. the needles even look different. i took apart the old obs gauges i had and you could tell the plastis was clear and just had paint on the back. but the ones out of my nbs look to be a tinted plastic. ill just have to try it to see i guess
i will let yall know, it would be a great cheap mod.

I fear your gauges will never be as accurate again. Looks good though. Also, if you care about your little ones safety you'll move that car seat to the middle. It would be a shame to cut your floor mat. :nono: You can make it fit under the sub box.

once you take the older style needles off its hard to keep them accurate.. I have gauges in mine and my needles are a tad off.

why is this?

It's near impossible to get them in the exact same spot as they were.

Anyone have any clear or white needles from an Escalade or ones that were bought but not used for a 98 cluster?
