Just bought an 07 2500HD single cab longbed 4x4 today with the 6.0L Vortec.

Had to get it out there, and also lookin for info on mods and good sources to buy them. LMC ain't gonna cut it any more.

Also, anyone add power windows and door locks to a newer model truck? How hard was it and where did you get the parts.

Thanks ya'll.

Is this the NBS 07 or an 07 Classic? Tons of stuff out there for the Classics and you can find stuff any place( local, internet, etc... ) but stuff is slow coming for the NBS. The HD NBS trucks have just come out so it is going to take a while for items for them.

I'm guessing its the OBS. I don't think there is a 2500 out yet in the NBS.

And right you are about finding mods for the NBS. I got mine in December, and finding things for it has been a pain. Hypertech is still working on thier programmer. Goodmark won't be coming out with a cowl induction hood till '08. Can't find chrome Rocker Panels. But at least I got a lift on it.....so far

If you are not looking for factory this is what I got for my 02HD A-1 Electric Power Windows around $250, install time was about 5 hours. As for power locks I had a local stereo shop install them w/ remote start $300.

Thanks for the info on the pw and pd. That's cheaper than I was plannin on.

Has anyone found an exhaust setup they like for the 6.0? I think I've got everything else I wanna do for now figured out.

I'm considering going with the Diablo Predator Sport Programmer. Anyone have any comments or reviews on this programmer?

If you are sensitive to interior sound levels be very careful adding a performance exhaust to your 6.0L. They are famous for interior resonance( ie; drone )when performance mufflers are installed. That drone would be a hum/vibration INSIDE the cab at certain speeds/rpm's that can be very loud and annoying.

The GM 6.0L is one of a handful of engines that do this really bad( Ford V10 and Dodge HEMI are two other notorious for it ). Not only will you be making it "louder" outside but inside as well and a LOT "louder" so to speak. I can't stand drone and have no tolerance for it. I had a major headache 20 minutes into driving my HEMI Ram with a Magnaflow every time.

FloPro makes a direct bolt in( ie; stock pipes )performance muffler for the GM 6.0L trucks that increases power but keeps interior noise down. If you actually want to go with a dual or dual exit kit I would look at Gibson or Corsa as they will be the quietest inside . Avoid Flowmaster and Magnaflow as they will be LOUD inside.

It will ultimately come down to how much drone you can handle. It is different for different folks. I suggest you find someone with a 6.0L truck with performance exhasut and try it out 1st.

As to the handheld. Now 1st off let me state I haven't used a Diablo. I personally won't mess with the PCM with a new vehicle that is under warranty. Just not risking it. However that is your call obviously. I will say while I have read some good reviews on the Diablo I have also read a LOT of posts from guys where there is an error uploading/downloading info to the truck's PCM. The truck sits dead until it can be fixed.

This has been posted about on here numerous times as well as other sites. Diablo is great about helping to fix it but that is something that would concern me. I know one guy posted how he was getting ready for a long trip and was updating his tune( towing? )when it happened. Everything got "stuck". He couldn't put the stock program back in nor could he fix/repair the tune in there.

Truck was dead and he couldn't leave for his trip( might have been moving? ). After reading about that I staretd to check out more threads about those handhelds and found it happening quite often to others. I have read about this happening with that particular handheld too often to think it was just a one time, small, incident. Super Common = no. Super rare = no as well.

No jumping me Diablo fans. Not knocking the programmer's performance gains or anything just answering the guys question.

Hope this helps you out.
