Desaturate when I copy and paste?

Why does it desaturate my image to black and white when I copy and paste another image into the one I'm working on? I opened a new 500x150 pixel canvas, and filled it with the fsc background color. Then I pasted an image into it, and it turned black and white!

Check the mode of the new image. I wouldn't be surprised if it got bumped from RGB to grayscale when you first created it.

Yep, that was it! Alright, another question, I accidentily closed the layers box in the bottom right corner, how do I get it back?

Recheck it on the window pulldown :thumbup:
