i dont know if this is the right thread cause it could go in interior too but i have what i think is a great idea for my stereosystem. first off i have a 2003 ecsb. my idea is to either take my bench seat out of the bakc and replace it with 2 bucket seats or just cut the center out of the bench and custom make the 2 buckets. it will all be reapulstered(sp?) in the end. so i figured if i do that i have about 14 inches between the 2 seats. i want to make a custom box that fits between the seats. (i do need some advice on the box. all i have is a square box with a 12" sub and some cup holders in it.) anyways thats for the back and then take the jumpseat out of the frontand make a custom center console. i would liek to have it all fiberglassed but dont know if i'll have the funds. so i guess jsut tell me what you think and any ideas.

I can't remember who did it, but someone on here has done a center console very similar to this... from back wall to dash, and I don't believe there was any fiberglass used on the entire thing. If you're doing the work yourself, then the fiberglassing is more time-consuming than expensive.

As far as the seats go, personally, I think you'll be better off with the buckets in back, but have you priced a set? A decent example of a real truck to look at would be the '00+ F-150 Harley Davidson editions... The crew cab version... they come stock with 4 buckets, and 2 consoles that have stock appeal to them.

i saw that thread the other day but im wanting 2 seperate boxes. one in the back between the buckets and then a center dash up front to house either another sub or some 6x9's. the sub im going to be using is the Massive Audio DMX 12". if i go 2 subs then they will be the cheaper series 12's. the only problem i have is that i have nowhere close to the woodworking skills as the ohter guy does haha. im gonna have buckets either way jsut dont know if ill buy them or make them outta my bench.

6x9 will sound like ass in a center console, but I like the bucket idea. Beware though as you will probably have to move your fronts up really far to have any leg room in the rear at all.

i was thinkin if i jsut custom make the back buckets out of the bench i already have then it would be no further forward than they already are. what do you suggest i do with the center console. another sub or nothing???
