I've read a lot of the post about painting interior parts. And If you want a textured finish everyone says just to clean it up, spray some adhesion promoter, and color, and then clear. However in the past when I have painted textured material, like my dash, the paint has just filled in the texturing and it turned out looking like crap. So has anyone painted their dash or trim pieces without sanding or glassing them, and did you use a spray gun, or just spray paint cans?

Thanks.

I would like to know the answer to this also. Sanding is a pain.

If you are painting textured pieces and want to keep them that way you will more than likely need to use a paint gun so you can put it down thin enough to not fill in the texture. If you want smooth with minimal sanding you might try some high build primer first to fill in the texture.
