Go for a custom tune.
And you ought to be ashamed to post a pic of a mustang in here. :whacko:

Honestly, save a lil more, Get you some 4.56 gears and a locking diff. Parts + Install should only cost you about $600. If you intall yourself, you're looking at $350-$400.
I have plenty of bolton performance mods on my truck, including a tuner, and the only thing that really helped me out was the tuner. However, It does you no good when your running bigger tires, because either way you're already slowing down from the bigger tires.
I suggest 4.56's with an Auburn posi. Easy, Affordable, and Effective.

Go with a custom tune and get some kind of intake and exhaust when you can afford it. Night and day difference.

Don't worry about a hand held. Get a PCM tune and do it right. I amaze people when they see how fast my truck is to pretty much just have minor work plus a tune. Some members here can vouch for me on that.
I got mine done from Nelson Performance.

but then your stuck with one tune, i can switch between econo , towing and performance, plus i can also check my dtc's. i don't know but i prefer my hand held. i can get it moving pretty good for 2500hd 4x4
