Jet DST.

I've been playing around with the JET DST Demo to get an idea of what it is capable of. My question is, if I change the perimeters in "Performance Mode WOT Shift Speed Vs. Shift" table, will the program update the "Performance Mode WOT Upshift RPM Vs. Shift" table to match the new perimeters? The Demo will not do this. Am I correct in thinking this is only because you can't save in the Demo version? It seems that the program would have to update the other tables to match the new perimeters in order to work properly. If it does do this I assume it does it with all corresponding tables, correct? Thanks in advance.

No those are 2 different parameters, 1 is for teh WOT upshift RPM, and teh other is for teh WOT upshift VEHICLE SPEED.

Both the RPM and VEHICLE SPEED parameters must be met for a WOT upshift to occur.

I usually set the speed for a certain MPH, under what I think I might want a WOT shift to occur then I tune the EXACT shiftpoint using the rpm at which I want the shift to occur.

I am using Tunercats OBD2 which is pretty much teh same a the JET DST.

It will shift at whichever value is higher.

Lets say you want a 5500 rpm shift from 1st to 2nd gear.

In you truck lets say that 5500 rpm is about 35 mph, in 1st gear.

If you set the WOT 1-2 shift speed to 32mph and the shift rpm to 5500 rpm, the trans will shift at 5500 rpm.

Now lets say you set the shift rpm for 5500 rpm, but the shift speed to 37 mph. The trans wouldnt shift until the truck reached a speed of 37mph. This is because even though the rpm value was attained, the speed value wasnt, so the shift didnt occur until teh speed value was satisfied.

BOTH VALUES MUST BE REACHED FOR A SHIFT TO OCCUR. IF 1 VALUE IS ATTAINED, THE SHIFT WONT AHPPEN UNTIL THE 2ND VALUE HAS BEEN SATISFIED.

So waht I normally do when tuning, is I set the shift speed for a value that will easily be attained, then I set the shift rpm to whatever rpm O want the trans to shift at.

Do you get it now??

If you leave the speed value the same, and just raise the rpm value, then the trans will shift at whatever rpm value you entered.

Pretty much what I am saying is, if you are trying to raise shift points, leave teh speed (MPH) values the same, and simply raise the rpm values.

Sorry my reply was so short, I was about to get whistlebit! I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me, seeing how I had it bassackward and all. I think following those guidelines will go a long way in learning this program. From everthing I've been reading on here and Monodax it seems like the help files and support from JET are not so hot, so it's great to have people like yourself to help out us noobs!
My DST should be here in a few days. My luck, probably Monday. My plan is to make a copy of my tune as is with the HPP3 installed. Then put it back to stock and copy that file. Then spend a little time making changes with the HPP3 and coping the files so that I can compare the different file tables to one another. I think this will help me to get a better idea of what tables are actually being change to make things happen and why, at least to some extent. I know there are better tunes out there than what the HPP3 has to offer. But, this is just to help me learn safely and not f... up anything in the process. Thanks again Pauly.
