93 tach gages swap

I have 93. What will it take to swap the non tach gage package for a gage package with tach from a 94? It looks like a straight bolt in. Is anything special needed electrically?

I previously got one from a 95 but it looks like more than just a simple bolt in.

95 won't fit in your interior. Any gauge cluster with tach from 92 to 94 will fit your truck, as long as it has the same connector in the back.

mine was a simple plug and play deal. only thing to consider is that the cluster you have with the tach matches the motor in the truck, ie v6 cluster with v6 moter etc.

I was wondering about that. Mine is a V6, the donaor truck is a crew cab so it must be a V8. Is there someting you can do to convert them?

In my 80 Lemans there was a jumper plug that had to be moved from one position to another.

i dont know my cluster is out of a v8 but my motor is a six. i have heard there is a resistor but have never looked for it. let me know if you find anything.

I know the 95 won't fit. I picked it up at a car show. The seller told me it was from a 94. When I got home I found out otherwise. I wish I knew somebody who would swap for a 92-94.:cool:

It's easier for you, i've got to find a 91 cluster with a tach, and it must be a 91, or i've got to do a sh*t load more wiring/work and i'm just lazy like that. And there is a way you can put a resistor or something on the tach wire, so it reads right, or at least more accurate, but I haven't heard exactly how to install it or how it works.
