I was looking at the turbo muffs and they are like $28 when the flows are $70-80. Does anyone know anything about the turbo muff? or have a sound clip? I know that Thrush used to make Hush Thrush muffs and they were great but they dont make them anymore. Is this a what you pay you get type of thing?

I temporarily ran a set of those on my Jimmy...they were uhh...cheap. They sounded like a run of the mill, ordinary muffler on my 2.8, nothing special about them. Granted they may sound totally different on a 350 :dunno: They are cheap, but they do the job.

Is what i realy want to know is how diffrent would the Thrush Turbo be from the super 44s, would It not be as deep? would it be louder? I need to know this info so I can make my decsion whether to save money and buy the thrush over the flowmasters or bite the bullet and dish out the extra cash for a better sound. I want to know if the thrush turbo will give me that muscle car sound I realy want. how much of a diffrence is their?? I looked all over google and cant find any info on thrush turbos I found some sound clips of them on 4 bangs and they sound as crappy as hell ( so does any muff on 4 bang). I want to know what they sound like on V8s.

I have run thrush and flows on v8s. They have different internal designs, so they will sound different. The thrush are a classic turbo muffler and were quieter inside and outside the vehicle. (I ran them as duals on 2.5" pipes on a k5) The 44s are chambered/baffled and were louder with interior resonance (duals on a 78 L82 vette). I dont really know which has better flow through, I would bet flowmasters do but I am not sure.

Which one sounded deeper? what is the diffrence in sound exactly?? where they pretty close in sound? will the thrush rumble like a flow?

for $29.00 u can get some thrush welded mufflers that sound like flows/look like flows from jegs.com. i would pick those instead of the thrush turbos. just my 2 cents. (i know u did not ask about them but i thought i'd throw in another idea.)

I had a pair on an 86 Cutlass I built way back when and I was shocked how quiet they were at first, but they ended up getting quite a bit louder the more I drove. I thought the Thrush Turbos sounded pretty good overall, and they definately have a nice deep rumble... I don't remember them having the resonance like some of the flowmaster I have had either.
They are a cheap enough investment if you don't like the sound you can always swap them with a higher dollar muffler later on.

I ran turbos on my 351 mustang... pretty damn quite... I was going to go to flows but exhaust guy said you probably wont be able to tell that much... so I put on the glasspacks from my truck and it's still suprisingly pretty good sounding and not very loud (my truck was pretty loud with them) but flows and turbos will probably be a bit different in sound but I dont know about $50 worth

They are pretty quiet mufflers, my dad has 2 on his '59 impala 283. It's not a good comparison to the newer trucks, but it has a deep rumble, sounds nice when you really get on it, and nice when decelerating from higher rpms. Kind of a puuuurrrrrr when coming off like 4k down. I am going to try a set on my '01 5.3 with magnaflow cats in a couple of weeks, I can post up a sound clip when it's done.
