so i cant figure out why my base timimg, with the timing connector "plugged in" is 35* advance...see timing connector "un plugged" i am at 0*TDC ...in my chip brian has set my base to 22* at idel...yet i am at 35* i have tried my stock distriubuer thinking my msd one went bad..no change...checked to make sure my timing indactor in not bent..its not....what would cause my timing to jump to 35* ...if it helps any (AT idel "MAP 35KPA" "TPS 2.1" "IAC 18-counts" with engine temp of "CTS 181*F")

aslo i am using a turn dial timing gun that can show advance...:fsc:

At 35 degrees advanced it either wouldn't idle or would have a very high idle and you IAC counts would be sitting on zero. I'm guessing your timing light is fubar'd. How are you measuring your MAP, TPS, and IAC counts? Especially your TPS? There is no way it can be at 2.1 volts and have 18 IAC counts unless the TPS sensor is fubar'd.

my bad i did not convert it..... tps is .65 volts at idel... iac is 18 counts... and after testing three timing lights it is still 35* at idel...and idel is not high but it does flux still some .....all my data comes from winaldl.....

OR your balancer is spun

wait, wait, wait...
on bypass youve got the timing dead at 0°
reconnect the bypass (after shutting the truck off and plugging
the connector back together and restarting the vehicle) you read
35°.
you know for a fact that your tuner has you on 22° @ 20-30-40kPa.
where are 13°? hummmmm...
then either the inital base in the tune is off, ECT timing
correct is added, idle correction (doubt it usually 1-2°)
balancer has spun on the ring...
id reverify the balancer.
remove #1 plug, install TDC stop in spark plug hole.
manually rotate the balancer pulley till the TDC stop wont allow
the balance to turn. mark balancer at the 0° mark on timing tab.
rotate the blancer in the opposite direction again until the TDC
tool touches the piston. again at the 0° mark on the timing tab
make another mark. measure in bewteen the marks and divide by
two. that is TDC. disconnect bypass, and reset timing with new
mark on the 0° mark on timing tab. this will verify the balancer.
if no difference then the chip is in error or other contributing
factors are effect the overall timing.
