im doing a motor swap in an 87 Nissan kingcab. the truck will be an offroad toy. mostly rocks and trails. altho I will drive it on the street.

I think I have desided to go with a TBI 350. it makes decent power(compared to the tbi 3.0 its replacing) and parts are readly avalable up here.

Ive been doing a bit of reading and am wondering what the best junkyard parts would be for a 350. ive hear that swapping a 454 TB is good, 92-94 LT1 cam is another. just looking to see what other types of things I can take from other vehicals/models/years to gain abit of power. not looking for anything crazy. like said, jsut a stock TBI 350 is a big upgrade from my 3.0 nissan.

also wondering what transmission I should go with. I have a TH400 but it needs a rebuild apparantly(but I have no clue on the condition). wondering how a 700r4/4l60e would hold up? any benifits of a 4l60e over a 700r4?

thanks guys.

if its going to be a toy, get that th400 rebuilt, will hold up better to a beating that it will take on the trails and when stuck. also a tbi 350 with a tbi spacer and some headers and youll be fine for what you want im sure. just remember to get the computer with it.
