Dayton Audio Reference Series 10" HO
X2 :read:
I believe you're looking at about a 5" mounting depth, and 12mm Xmax, so you'll need a bit of breathing room in front of it. The HO is great as well, because it loves small enclosures. I currently have mine in a .7'^3 ported box, at about 30-31hz, and I'm quite impressed with the output from such a small driver/box combo.

If all that work seems worth it to you, why does a few clicks not seam worth it? Haha... All that work is un-nessesary anyways... Just get 2 of some really shallow 10's. Actually, have you considered some really nice 8's? This diamond D3 is only 4.8" http://www.diamondaudio.com/content/view/136/150/
Diamond is one of those companies that you can truthfully say has never made a crappy product... Pretty much anything you get from them will be about the best you can get for the money or application, granted, there are some applications that they may not be the best choice, but they will usually be best for what they are made for....

fiberglass the back wall of the cab, this will give you about 1/2" more room to work with.
I can post pics if you like to see it done

I fit a pair of 10" Diamond D3s in my truck with no problems and no cutting, 2 cubic feet of airspace for the pair worked out great. I have some pictures if you want to see my setup.

I have the estimate MAX outer dimensions of the sealed box I can fit using my plan of cutting into the back of the cab and floor. This will gain me 3" in box mounting depth. I will also gain 4" in box height.
Max dimensions are 19IN H x 11IN BD X 6IN TD X 22IN W (Common truck box shape) Im getting about 1.5 cubic feet If I calculated correctly with 3/4" MDF. Someone double check if Im correct.
Is this shape in these dimensions ok? I know its seems alittle wide and tall for a 10" sub, does this matter?
With this information any more recommendations on subs and what would work? Should I change the dimensions of the box?
Did you allow for a double baffle?

Internal volume is critical, shape isn't as long as there aren't funny constrictions and other weird stuff.

Earthquake Subs are about the lowest profile I've seen at 2" on my 10's. Built a box that fit behind the rear seat in my 2500HD Crew Cab. A bit tight on top but the seat clears the speaker thump. Awsome sounding, it is.

A 2" tall sub, well, is not a sub.

I still don't see why you would cut a hole in your cab.. I hope you never plan to sell the truck... If you are gonna cut a hole you might as well go all out and do a blow through and run some 12" or 15" subs back there... You should be able to get 2 or 3 8" subs to fit back there fine... Even some 10" subs would work with the seat pretty far back...
