I bought an 87 suburban that had a dash swap from a 97. I was told the speedo worked, but the whole time i've driven it, it sometimes does nothing, sometimes sweeps from 0 to 100 while parked. The motor has been carbed, and i'm pretty sure the speedo cable is the mechanical cable. I was told there was a mechanical speedo cable to wire speedo (i'm assuming the speedo in the 97 dash gets it's signal thru a wire instead of the mechanical cable that plugs into the back of the old speedos) thread on this forum, but i can't find it anywhere. Can anyone help me? I'd also like to get the temp and oil pressure gauges to work.
