Nice day out today, detailing my truck, when to my dismay, I heard a popping noise and new immediately that it was the lumbar bladder. My leg hit the switch and held it on while I was cleaning out the center console. I really like the support that it gives, and in about three days will be leaving on a 400 mile one way trip, i will call the dealer in the A.M.. Just wondering if anyone has any idea on how hard a job, time to complete etc.
Thanks.

Im guessing the seat would have to come out and the ciover come off the seat maybe. Prob not going to be a real easy fix.

haha wow, sorry but thats kinda funny, i tried for years to pop the one in my moms suburban when i was a kid, never would happen though, that would have made my day to be there when it popped
anyway-short term stick a pillow behind you for the trip
long term-what year/model is your truck?
just a quick look found for NBS trucks the lumbar support was ~$35, for OBS it was ~$19 on gmpartsdirect.com, you could order, take the cover off your seat, replace the support and have it fixed in a couple hours probably, or just take it to the dealer and prepare to be ripped a new one if you dont have a warranty
and theres always the possibility the actual bladder didnt pop and it was just the little tube leading to it, maybe slipped off, or got a hole in it, dunno

I would guess that the hose would pop off before the bag burst.

GCncsuHD, sorry I know I need to remember to post my vehicle info, it is a 2001 Silverado 1500.
Toy truck, i think that you may be right about the line maybe just blowing off, but it did make a pretty good popping sound and I knew then what had happened.
GCncsuHD thanks for the link, I didnt think that the parts would be that much, just a pain to get at. I have taken seat covers off and replaced them before with the hog rings and all. Just takes a little patience, but it was also a vehicle that I didnt care aboout ( 16 year old Wrangler) and i ony paid $10 bucks for a used skin on ebay. I guess the leather will test my mettle.
Thanks.

Did you ever repair your popped lumbar bladder? I have a 02 Sub and I felt a pop behind the drivers seat. I was wondering how difficult it is to repair.
