Ok so its time to get to work on the Front stage. Mid bass will be the DD 6.5's, Tweets I'm looking at Morel MDT-37 or some SEAS. I am thinking of pulling my Kappa 4X6 "driver" from the the plate and using it as well for the in between frequency's.

Staging is the question, Its going to be passive, Don't have the time for active. Either think it could all go in one kick panel, or tweets in the stock 4X6 location reflecting the sound off the windshield into the cab and the DD and the infinity in the kicks, Or the DD in the kicks and the Infinity in the door.

Comments? suggestions?

I'm still looking for an Amp and crossovers for this.

You CAN'T use that set of drivers passive unless you really spend some time and money on the crossover. Expect the crossover to cost nearly as much as the drivers. For simplicity try to keep everything near each other.

it really depends alot on the axis response of your drivers. If you tweets have poor off axis response, id put em in the kicks facing me... i would assume your midbass have better offaxis response than that 4x6 which is why i would put it in the doorpannel.

Theres no way the DD will fit in the doors with out some MAJOR modding.

Crossovers are the dleima.

I would just buy a set of passive crossovers or just go active. When you calculate the cost of the crossover components, and the time spent designing it you could have just bought a small amp for the tweets

There are no passives made for that set of drivers. If you insist on running passive I would highly suggest completely different drivers.

Building passives for that setup will take 5x's as much time/money/effort, than going active.

Is there a gap in frequency response between the DD's and the tweeter you want to use? Taking those 4x6's out of the equation would make this alot easier.

Big gap, I wouldn't use the DD's in a 2 way. Of course you really, really shouldn't use any part of the 4x6 in a 3 way either. You'd be better off with this:

Note, I don't know anything about that speaker other than it was the cheapest one on PE. I do pretty much guarantee it would be better than using part of the 4x6 though.

OK so active it is and upon further research the drivers are about 80hz-5K

Tweets 1.8K - 22K, the only reason for the 4x6 driver becuase it was on hand, don't have to use it, I'm just saying its there.

Wow active moving up in the world.

If you are only going 2 way with the DD, I personally would get a tweeter that can play really low as the DD is not particularly enjoyable the higher in frequency you get. Crossing it over much above 1kHz will create issues.

I've heard these with the RS daytons, fixed dustcaps don't allow for high extension with those speakers. Why are the DD's so terrible at it?
