94 Headlight switch swap to 95

Hey guys so i finally got around to starting the swap. i want to start with the wiring.

I read the compile thread on the swap but . I bought the headlight/dome light switch combo with the harness from a junkyard and i am ready to install and splice it in. Now the old 94 switch has less wires 7. The new one has 11 wires. The colors don't correspond like it says on the thread for the compiled swap . Will have some wires left that will not be used?? i have another switch that say DOME light on/auto also in my truck with two wires on it. will i have to splice that into this new 95 one as well??i can get u guys pictures if u need them.

Thanks guys any pictures would be appreciated it.. well under way to do the swap from 88-94 boxy style to the 95-99 style dash. I got all the pieces and wiring. i am starting with the headlight switch.. thanks my fellow FSC guys..

I did this dash swap in my 1994 burban also. It's been a few years and I can't remember the wire colours. I can't check it out right now since my burban is in winter storage right now sorry. I will look in my notes to see if I wrote any of it down. later......

If you have any buddies that have alldata or mitchell on demand you can get print outs of both and compare. I put a 94 cluster in an 89 truck and thats how I did it! I saw at oreilly the other day where you can buy online repair manuals but they were so many dollars per vehicle and you would possibly need 2!

You will use the two wires off the other piece I'm pretty sure.

ok i got the wires figured out one by one... but i have one wire brown left on the truck side, the newer switch has 2 purples and a yellow/whiteish color also left.. where does the brown one go?
