I've always wanted to pick up a PIAA airdam for my HD. But, I heard recently they aren't made anymore, and if you can find them they want alot for them used. Well I found a PIAA airdam on Craigslist pretty cheap locally. It was previously painted red for the truck it was on. So obviously I will need to paint it. I also aquired a chrome hd grill bar awhile back and decided to colormatch it to my truck. I'll be colormatching the HD grille bar and painting the PIAA airdam black to match my upper bumpercap.

What do you guys think of this idea??? I'll still have my stock parts to change back out if I don't like this or how it turns out.

I think your truck would probably look pretty bad ass after the PIAA valance is on. I think you should do it definatly.

i don't know how you keep making your truck more badass but you do. I think it will look even better with the new airdamn on.

I love the airdam, but I don't know about painting it black. I think it'll be a bitch to match the top cap and chances are that this PIAA airdam has been smoothed if it was already painted. Smooth your top cap and paint them both blue perhaps?

My reason for going black with the airdamn is b/c I was planning on painting my stock valance blk. anyway to match the upper cap. I have no other gray on the truck, so the factory valance sticks out IMO. I figured the black would go with the rest of the appearance. But, I do understand what you're saying. The valance is smoothed and my top cap is still textured. I could also paint my top cap black at the same time.

Also, I'm not talking about taking this to a body shop and having it sprayed. I was just going to mess around and colormatch this HD chrome grille bar I have to see what it looks like and paint my stock valance blk. But, then I found this PIAA airdam on craigslist, so I figured I'd try it.

To have the airdamn, top cap, and bar painted blue I'd have to send them out to a paint shop. And right now I don't have the money for all that. Plus now you got me thinking b/c the black HD mesh grille part will still be black. I could put my billet grille back in over the mesh part, but the surround would still be black.

I don't know?!?

i say you jump on the deal and get the valance and if you dont want it, resell it for more...

Well I think I'm gonna get the valance either way. I can't get it till this week. The guy has it at his work.

Can anyone do a photoshop of the frontend?? Just maybe make the chrome HD grille bar blue but leave the billet bowtie. And, do the stock valance blk???? Just for an idea, I'm not good with photoshopping.

Id leave as is IMHO. The fogs in your valance now match the lines of the headlights rather than the circular piaa ones. Either way, bamf truck man!
