View Full Version : Hypertech Programmer 3 Rev Limits HELP???

Just got this device. I have an intake, and magnaflow exhaust. going to put headers in soon. what could i should i adjust the rev limits to for 1-2. 2-3. and 3-4?? and what should be my rev limit? 5900??? what about adjustable transmission shift points?? My truck is a 2000 5.3L. Im runnin regular fuel. I know im going to change to supreme but im not an expert with rev limits and transmission shift points... this is my daily driver. i want to have it set for every once in a while take offs.. thanks.

Personally I would leave the shift points alone, probably best for daily driving, although firming the shifts up will help ALOT. My uncle has an'02 and we played with the shift points and found the Factory setting to be best. Just my .02. Hope this helps.:dunno:

My shift points are currently +4, +4, +4 and RPM limiter at 6200 RPM. I've adjusted shift firmness also. This is my daily driver. I have also set it to 93 octane. I've had this on my truck for a few years now and it works great.

Do yourself a favor...sell the Hypertech and get a custom tune...I had the Hypertech programming for 2 years, got a custom tune...and soon realized the Hypertech was crap...especially if you're going to add headers soon...go with something that can unleash the power you need.
