Have any of you had any experience with electric corded impact wrenches? I am looking at a 1/2 drive dewalt one that puts out 345 ft/lbs. Would this be strong enough for general automotive work?

I don't know about the coreded model but the cordless one I have is damned good. I am sure a corded one will work better. For most stuff 345 should be alright, you may have to get out the breaker bar and cheater for some things still though. I think that is true for any 1/2" impact though, once in a while it just won't be enough.

Do you think that it will break loose lug nuts that are torqued a 115 Lbs?

Some impacts are rated in nut busting torque meaning they will bust a nut torqued to X ft lbs loose. The Ingersol Rand I'm looking at will break loose a nut torqued to 1100 ft lbs or so it says. That being said I have a weak Napa pneuamatic rated at 550 ft lbs I believe and it does everything I've ever needed it to do. I would guess its still got around 400 ft lbs or so worth of torque. Put an extension on it and it goes to hell in a hand basket but thats kind of normal with impacts.
