View Full Version : FR speaker/amp wiring

So I'm trying to complete my audio system. I'm doing it all myself as well. I've got all four of my full range speakers hooked up straight to the head unit and I've got a pair of Kappa Perfects bumpin' under my rear seat in my Sierra. I'm about to buy a four channel amp to hook up my FR speakers around the truck but I have one problem. I've never hooked up a speaker set like that. I was wondering if anyone could hook me up with some tips on how to do it and, if need be, how to run speaker wire from the terminals on the amp through my truck to the actual speakers. Thanks!

btw, the gauges in ur sig are sick...what kind r they?

i put my power/rca/remote wires under the driver side trim. there is a nice gap just for wires and works nicely even with the 0 guage power wire =] when i had my seats out i ran my bass controller under the carpet.

for the front comps i'd also go under the trim on each side and thru the wire tubes to get em in the door.

btw, the gauges in ur sig are sick...what kind r they?They are stock, I just replaced the original white bulbs with blue LEDs. On '02 and older trucks, you just swap out the old bulbs with LEDs, but it's tougher on the '03+ trucks because the stock bulbs are soldered in place. I could tell you how to do it on the 95-02 trucks, but I have no idea how to do it on the newer trucks. Try using search, you might find something or at least someone who has done it before.

Alright, I get how to run the wires up to the doors, but how about getting them to the speaker. How can you slide them through the rubber boot from the cab to the door?
