a few days ago i picked up a 88 chevy 2500 4x4 350tbi/sm465/np205(ithink) for my new dd (93 s-10 blazer wassent cuttin it) The exhaust is rotted out and im pretty sure the cat is no good either.I would like to run headers but prob not in the budget. Im not sure about a ypipe or an x pipe true duals etc etc. How hard would it be to have duals exiting in front of the rear tires? Kits? custom? all i know is i want it to be loud

If you want it loud I would do headers, high flow cats, true duals, and dual exit in front of rear tires if that is where you want it. I don't know if the fuel tank would be an issue on your truck for the exit on the drivers side. Also you may need a bit of back pressure on your truck so possibly a shot muffler such as a cherry bomb extreme or shorter magnaflow somewhere in the mix. If all of that is not in the budget I would leave the stock manifolds, get new cats or take them off entirly, add in the muffler for back pressure and do an exit of your liking. Also I would just find a reputable exhaust shop in your area and have it custom done. You would be able to get more of what you want for exit and not have to spend as much money.

i was under the truck today, and was thinking about replacing the y pipe with a more free flowing one than factory, and ordering a summit cat back and deleting the cat. I was thinking about the dual exit one with the resinator tips. but i dont know about the back pressure issue now. I figure down the road a little bit i could get some nice shortie headers, im not sure that i wanna skimp on headers because i have a set of flo-tech full length headars on my 84 and there garbage.
