im picking one up on my next paycheck, and wondering, are they hard to install? how easy is the installation and would it really be worth it? i mean i know it wont make my truck be able to stomp everything out there, but about how much of a difference would it make? my truck is a 1991 C1500 with the 5.7 350

Well i just did this to my truck a few days ago and it did make a noticeable difference in power but not sure yet on the gas or anything. I bought the wiring harness for mine and it made installation as simple as can be. Plug this wire here and that one there, hook the ground to the battery and the power wire to the battery and good to go. Nice and simple.

ok thanks! but i am confused about one thing one the intrustions, found here http://www.jegs.com/InstallationInstructions/100/121/121-6420.pdf
on page 14, the one for the dual connector coil
is has the red wire going to both pinks, and a white wire going to both whites. im confused about this, does that mean you connect the red wire to the pinks wires that used to go directly to the coil?

Why are you spending the extra money for a 6AL? You dont need a rev-limiter, your truck already has one.

thats a good point. and the MSD is a fine unit. however if it were me, I'd look into the Mallory hyfire or Crane Hi-6 boxes, both are in the same price range, very high quality, plus they're digital where the MSD 6 is analog. and they both have more spark output than the MSD.

wire it just like the diagram shows, both pinks are connected together inside the stock coil in the first place, and both whites

I got a quick question, my 6A box is all jacked up, not in the sense it doesn't work because it works fine it just seen better days i am trying to take it out. I didn't install it but what wires should i look out for that need to be disconnected and re-installed on a stock wire/location? Or can i just disconnect the power wires and cut out the rest?
