View Full Version : The "Free" Block and Torsion Drop

I will be doing this drop soon. Not exactly free because I paid about $50 for the shorter U-Bolts from GMPartsDirect.com (Part #15002781). I am going to pull the rear 2" blocks and do 7 full turns (or 28 Quarter turns) to drop the front end down an inch. I will have pictures to document the change in the coming days.

don't forget, drive it around for a few days then have the alignment checked.
let the suspension settle then do the alignment.

i did the "free" drop to my truck about a month ago. i have my torsion bars all the way down and removed the factory blocks as well. i have some 2" drop shackles that i'm gonna put in as soon as i get some 2500 keys to drop the front a little more. post some pics soon

Finally got around to doing the drop yesterday. Here are some pics.
I didn't realize how sensitive the pics are to showing the drop but there is definitely a difference now.

The Install went very quick and was very easy to do. I am pleased with the results.
and, Yes. I'm going to get it aligned today.
