I have an '84 GMC Sierra with an unusual Hickey Roll Bar. First off, I cannot find a thing about it or anyone who has one or any Hickey stuff for that matter...BUT, this is about showing your bar no matter what it is. Mine is a dual tube construction with stubby back arms that end before the wheel wells and I happen to love it!

When I bought the tuck, it had a cab spoiler/fairing hiding the thing so I took it off and sold it! The bar is also surrounded by a custom made bed cover that wraps around the bars like they were not even there. Made by a local Pittsburgh upholstry shop. It snaps on the beds sides and on the lip of the tailgate. Its old school for sure and looks great!

So...SHOW ME YOUR BAR or SHOW ME YOUR 'HICKEY'! I am so interested in Hickey stuff too that even if you do not have a roll bar but have something Hickey like push bars or anything...show it as well! Not sure what Vic Hickey made but I know he must not have made much. Thanks a lot people!

By the way...I cannot post since I am not allowed says this site so...click on the links and hope to one day soon post an actual photo! I hate new member rules! Oh well.

Guess this didn't go over well. Oh well. I would like to see a 99-06 GMC or Chevy full size extended cab with a roll bar. Not sure if it would look good or not having the cab and a regular bed, but hope to see some photos of that set up if there is anyone out there with one. Thanks

Not a big fan of roll bars, but looks friggin' bad-ass on that truck of yers.

appears this Hickey fella makes/made some fine products.

That one looks good, ive seen some that look worse than chit. Guy that lives near me has a 2002 2500HD with chorme full length bed rails and a roll bar with 5 KC Daylighter lights on it, looks worse than hell.

Here's the stock bar on my 77 chevy sport. If I found one I liked,I'd put one on my 78 longbed too.

Thanks for the comments. I hate roll bars as well, but this one stood out so I kept it. Originally it was hiding behind a cab spoiler/fairing so immediately took that off and saw how nice that was. Might take it off for the winter and get a cap for it to keep the snow out of the bed.

little word of advice on the cap used for keeping snow out of the bed, the lack of heat/defrost in the bed will make it impossible to see out of the windows in the cap.

No Idea on make or whatever, bought it for 25 bucks. I absolutley ****ing hate when people put in roll bars not made for their trucks and they either almost touch the tailgate or stick a foot about the cab.:whatever:

ryan, i'm almost gonna say yours is a Smittybuilt. i've seen some of the boxes those things came in back in the day, and seeing the joints, tells me that it was one of the put it together yourself deals, not one that was made as one solid piece.

you guys do know that in the event of a roll, those are going to do almost nothing for you right?

Oh Hell ya, If your real unlucky it'll punch through into the gas tanks lol. I admit its for looks, the visor looks funny without it.

They're actually light bars, but roll bar sounds cooler. Mine made the truck more useful. If I had to tie down anything tall like a fridge, the bar made a great tie down point; for anything tall. Plus the lights up high light up everything great when you're in the woods.

They started calling them light bars, because ya, they dont do much in a roll and people found that a great oppurtunity to sue.
