Is anyone familiar with the Metra kit that allows for a 1.0 DIN head unit AND a 1/2 DIN Equalizer to be mounted in a 2000 Silverado? I know they make them, but I need to order one since no one in my local area has the ability (or the desire) to order one for me. Anybody got a model number?

which kit were you looking at exactly. The setup you were talking about sounds like something i would like to do. I like the idea of the radio above the eq in the stock location. Thanks....

...and purchased the 4544 kit. It is kind of a universal kit for GM vehicles, but it includes a faceplate that allows for both a 1/2 DIN EQ and a full DIN head unit. It worked, but a few things made it a longer ordeal than I expected: 1-the dash bezel on the truck will not fit around the outside of the faceplate...either the bezel or the faceplate on the kit has to be Dremeled. Pain in the ass, doesn't look perfect, and still took 30 minutes and 2 sets of hands to finally fit. On a 10 scale it is an 8 when finished. I just got to the point where I said f&c$ it! and MADE it fit. 2-The space for the head unit and eq in the dash is not quite deep enough to accomodate the units and still have room at the back for the 1000 feet of power leads, RCA cables, speaker wires, and antenna lead. I ended up tying fishing line to the whole bundle and pulling it thru the back and down around to the front so I could yank all the wires away from the eq and HU. Still just barely fit. The HU and EQ protrude about 1/2" further now than when I just had the HU centered in the hole, but I am used to it. Let me know if you have any further questions.

The Metra kit number you are looking for should be 99-3003.
If you want to look at American International, it should be Gm-K345 EQ
