i have read many posts about certain speakers having good sound quality but i never hear anyone speak of the door infinity speakers. Are these not good speakers? i know that they cant handle bass but i think that they have very good sound quality.

I have had a set of infinity Kappas in my doors for five years, and they still sound great. You can pump the power to them and they play loud and put out a fair amount of bass too.

The Kappas are a great speaker. I have had mine, since 1998. The tweeters, were replaced twice, under warrentee, but that's because I am using a stock deck with the treble turned up and amplified with 75 rms per channel. I replaced the tweeters with MB Quart "r" series titinum dome, last year, and it's a little harsher, but I like it. If you have amps, more than 50 watts per channel, do not buy the Infinity "reference". I bought this set first, and blew both mid's. Then, upgraded to the Kappas.

Infinitys arent terrible but there are better sets for the money.

Generically way overpriced, but that isn't always the case. I have an issue with $300 components where you can buy the mid alone for $10

^thats why i got mine on ebay, haha. $120 on ebay versus $250 at crutchfields.

but i have the Kappa components powered by a kenwood amp (ive had good luck with kenwood amps) and they sound excellent. I can pretty much crank my stereo to my tolerance and they never crackle. Im not an audiophile by any means, but they sound great IMO.

BUT, like ///M5 always says, what may sound good to me doesnt necessarily sound good to another.

All I can say, does this look familiar? And yes, I realize that this is about 5 years off but either way not a whole lot special going on.

I will also add though that for $13 it is a hell of a driver.

Hey! I have those same drivers in my doors right now!(came with the truck when I bought it)

So, are those the same driver as the Infinity 6.5" that I have in my doors?

HMMM....if they are, I might think about picking up an extra pair and doing a 3 way setup in my truck.

raw drivers are by far the way to go if you have the ability to fit them to a passive or run active!

hell you can even find some amazing deals (picked up some Alpine TypeXREF tweets for 36 bucks!)
