I have a 1986 Silverado 2WD that is two tone....metallic brown and tan, but it's all faded and nasty. I am going to repaint it but can't decide if I want to stay with the brown/tan or go another route.

If anyone has any pictures of a nice and clean brown/tan truck post them up (81-87 preferably)!

Thanks

i agree! i want that exact wheel and tire setup! whats the sizes of the tires and the width and backspacing on the wheels if you remember? btw, for two tone. do a non factory color combo, but with the factory two tone. i was going to go black with a teal middle.

Not sure if you are taking to me about the wheels or not, but the truck I posted is not mine, just one I found as an example. If you aren't talking to me, I'm sorry! Haha

Going to probably stay with the factory two tone scheme and colors I believe....this was my great grandmothers truck and she passed away earlier this year and I'd like to restore it to how it looked (plus lowered with some wheels) when she first owned it.

Is that the low miles, all original truck you bought from a friend? I thought i remembered reading a thread about it. Either way i am loving the two tones :rocking: very clean.

Yeah, it's my Daily driver now and sees about 2500 km per month...ain't gonna be "low mileage" for long.

sorry it took so long to get back, the tire wheel combo was a weld pro star& bfg radial ta, if i remember correctly. The front wheels were narrower than the rear, maybe like a 7 up front and a 10 in the rear. As far as the suspension i know it had spindles and trimmed springs in the front, and the rear had shackles and one leaf removed .

If your gonna keep it kinda "old school" Just get the wheels powder coated the same color as your "center color" of the two tone (that you decide to go with). I've seen some really good looking 73-87 trucks done that way.

CanCan took such good care of that truck, and now you're just gonna run it to death. at least regear it and put some 40s on it. :aniteef:

Yeah, Paul did take good care of the '83. I'm gonna leave this one dead stock though. I got the Crew Cab to 'build'.

Of course I could swap the front suspension and 14 bolt from my Crew cab to the '83...add 3-4" of lift and run some 33's. That's match up nicely with the 4.10's.

Not...lol

If you are going to pay the money to paint it I would go with some different colors. Two tone is fine but brown/tan is not the hippest colors around IMO.
