on 5.3. I have a 99 Sierra 5.3 ECSB with a cutout and 40 Series Flowmasters SI/SO Y pipe split and dumped at the axle, stock headers, stock cats, and K&N FIPK II. Needless to say my truck is LOUD, on the highway at 70 with the windows you can hardly hear yourself think much less speak. I'm lookin to change it up a little and run a SI/DO single chamber flowmaster dumped at the axle and puttin a plate on my cutout. Anyone runnin one and have a soundclip of it?

the single chambers are loud under wot and high engine speeds i had one on my 04 dakota 4.7 when i had it but i had tail pipes. i also ran them on my 82 t/a with true duals headers and no cats dumped at the axle with no turndowns and no x/h pipe god it was annoying. at idle there not much diff sounding form a 40series and less interior resonance at any speed from what ive heard from others though just louder . lol ive got some clips of them on those vehicles if you want to see them. im also going to see what they sound like on my yukon when i do tds and headers on it.

yeah, i dont know what series he got nor did he, it was his older brothers, they swapped the muffler in and some 3" pipe from the muffler to the tips and then he said they were gonna do headers and cats and 3" pipe to the muffler, so i imagine after all was done it sounded pretty badass, but just the muffler pipe and tips didnt sound good at all

If you cut off the pipe some (maybe at the Y which is really serving no purpose) you will notice that the drone rpm's change. If you do it in just the right spot the drone will be in a RPM range that you won't hear it. Mine is now at about 900-1100 RPM's which I rarely ever drive in or barely see under acceleration.

the y is weld straight to the muffler exit port and i got 2 turndowns on it, the drone is from the cutout, i get a vid today

I've got a Cherry Bomb Extreme(same basic design as a Flowmaster 10 series) and I love it. It's loud when you get on it but it is a nice rumble when cruising. I have a soundclip if you want to here it.

Ill be able to post a review of how a Cherrybomb extreme knockoff sounds, hopefully tomorrow when it is scheduled to arrive.

I love my Magnaflow, just looking for something a bit louder while Im still kinda young.

IMCO's? If so, they actually own the Cherry Bomb name, and the CB Extremes are derived from the IMCO single chamber design. They should sound the same, and when I got mine there wasn't a difference in price.
