My truck, 95 chevy stepside, 350 tbi of course, very common motor, my monte carlos brand new zz4 cratemotor, almost same set up with the powersteering BUT i can't figure out which line is leeking if its the return or the pressure line. I tried following it to back of the pump to see if tis just on the return 'nipple' or if its braided/threaded in there but i couldn't get to it. Its the line, if you're looking at it from driving side on side of the truck on to the side of the whole motor of course its the line thats further up in the air, has a metal bend from the pump, then about 6" of rubber that creates an arch, then back to the metal line in to the steering box. Its leeking where the end of the rubber hoses goes into the 2nd metal line. So im assuming its the pressure line cause it sprayed the fluid everywhere and dryed the pump. The pump is fine. I heard it whinding, and on top of difficult turning i knew what the problem was right away. I have the line temp. patched up right now at the moment, thank god my job is close. BUT i need to know which one it is and WHERE to order a new line other then going to a junk yard and taking one out. Please let me know, anyone, what ya can. Thanks.
PS i think i found what i need in a jegs catalog, if anyone has a recent JEGS near by page 173 at top almost middle of page youll see "2-piece rubber hose kit" for power steering but no metal lines included i dont think so i dont if thats what i want or not. If someone can direct me to the catalog or website where it is which line and the whole set up, i would be quiet the happy man.
