Question about locked-Ive read the sticky

I am now in the market for a factory headunit out of a denali. If the price is right i was just assume get the navigation unit. If i buy one on ebay and swap it in, it obviously will give me a locked message. Will the info in the sticky unlock the navigation unit as well.

And at the end, after you unlock it, he sais it is still in theft detterent mode. And you set your own code or whatever..do you have to do that? Will it just say locked the next time you start your car if you dont. I definitely dont want to do that procedure more than once

Ok, here is what i am going through, I got my navigation and all the wiring in a kit off ebay, I took it to the dealership, and it was in theft lock. The tech did not know how to take it off with the tech2 programmer, so I gave him the info about putting it in as a 06 Monte Carlo and it unlocked it, and no problems since. Now, I just have to get an amp installed so that the volume turns up. It works now and everything, just not loud enough. So, needless to say, I think it was a good investment cause the navigation is pretty sweet.
