Cat Back Help?

Looking for suggestion on what cat back to get, only brand preference is not Flowmasters. (seems like everyone has them around here) I've been searching around here for a wile and can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Ideally I'm looking for: mandrel bent, Stainless Steel, Dual exits at an angle behind the rear wheels, loud with out major interior resonance, retain stock spare tire location and a reasonable price

One of my buddies has a nbs ccsb 6.0 with straight pipes from the cat back, I love the sound but have 2 problems with it, it's regular steel and I don't want to have to replace it every couple years, both muffler shops in town quoted me $500 plus for aluminzed steel wrinkle bent, including tips & no mufflers and 45's behind rear wheels.

Any suggestion would be appreciated was looking at two systems already but I have my reservations about them.

gibson extreme duals are nice they have the 45's like you want and it is stainless and mandrel bent. not to loud in the cab and a about the same price as the local shops wanna charge you and it will last for alot longer then the steel pipe will thats just my .02cents

I've heard Gibsons are really quiet, both inside and out. One of my friends had a Gibson system on his Ford Powerstroke. It wasn't any louder than stock, it just looked nice. He was pissed and wished he never did it.

$500+ at a shop? I paid $370 for my custom cat-back. Stainless pipes, muffler, and tips. I will never buy a system from a manufacturer after going to that shop. They did so good I brought my Corvette to them also. Look around for a different shop.

Borla, Magnaflow, and Gibson should have something that fits into what you are looking for. There are probably some other brands but those three I know for sure offer stainless steel systems.

Gibson, unless you go with the super truck system, do tend to be on the quiet side. That's a good thing if you hate interior drone.

Well of all my concerns interior drone is the lowest. My dad says my El Camino is too loud in the cab for long trips, but I think it's just right for a hot rod, doesn't bother me one bit.

As far as other shops in the area the choice is limited, but I think that is the best option at this point. I'm going to ask around and see what I can find. If nothing else there are some larger cities within and hour, so next is to start calling around to see what's available.

The recent drop in steel prices may lower the previous quote I got here in town. (in the last month scrap prices have dropped from $700+ to around $200 per ton... turns out we buy a lot of scrap steel in the melt department at the foundry)

And as far as the gibson system being too quite :repuke: and regretting buying it was my fear, looks like I can cross them off my list.

Thanks for the input guys, helps to keep me from dropping a decent amount of $$ just to be disappointed.
