I've tried to find the shape of the l31 exhaust ports so i can purchase some copper header gaskets to replace my blown papers ones.
Ive been looking at the SCE gaskets on summit and this is the page that it brings me to once i narrow down my search as far as possible. Link (http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=700+4294925237+4294921566+42948862 11+4294908216+400123+4294840140+4294924744+115+429 4889107)
If someone could help me out as to what shape or size the exhaust ports are that would be great.

Nope...Yes i already googled that and ive been staring at that exact picture for a little bit now. If you would take the time to look at my link you would see that the "style" section of the "browse by" is vague.
You have a choice between round, square, oval, d-port or rectangle. And by judging the pictures off of summit none of them look quite like the exhaust port which you nicely provided.
EDIT: If i had my guess i would say it would be square port....but im looking for someone who actually knows rather than just a guess

My headers are round, and the heads are a rounded edge square, just get some manifold gaskets from the dealer and it will seal up good, thats what was done on my truck and no leaks.

Thats also what i have read that the manifold gaskets work well too. What type of headers do you put on your truck? Did you get any ticking from them? Im thinking i just might get the manifold gaskets and some locking header bolts and be done with this.

The OBS vortec head ports are considered SQUARE. The LT head ports are considered "D" shaped. The NBS headers are considered ROUND. Hope that helps in your search.

See Sig (also have pics). SOMETIMES I hear a ticking. (which leads me to believe it IS NOT a leak) I used Fel-Pro eventhough the Edelbrocks came with gaskets.
I also got some 1" (very important to get 1" and not the 3/4") locking header bolts (I used "Stage 8" if I was to do it again, I would use "Percey's" locking header bolts. They are Stainless and I like that design better. I HAVE NOT had any problems with the ones I got, I just like the "Percey's" design better.
