Ok I am having a box built now and had a flood at my house and my subs were on the floor and were damaged. I can go any size and the box is taking up the whole extended cab of a ranger so airspace isn't much of a problem. I want two subs and my budget is $300 each. The amp pushing them is an Alpine MRP-M1000. Dayton HF's are what was damaged. I liked the SQ of them but I would like something a little louder.

What do yall suggest? Thanks!

So do you have the box already?

If so, SPECS! :read:

No the box was barely started when the house flooded this week. I told them to hold on w/ the build until I determine what subs will be in there so we can build it to them.

Have you looked at the Dayton HO's rather than the HF's? I see the HF's being cramped in an automotive application.

This is actually for my brother and I told him to get the HO's last time but he messed up and got the HF's I think. It said High Fidelity on the box they came in.

Ya I just looked. They were the HF's. Are the HO's alot louder?

They can handle a bit more power, and thrive in a smaller enclosure. And, since the box isn't built yet, you can go ported, which they handle quite well.

What about 2 10w6v2's. I think I want to go ported now will those be pretty good?

I like the HOs. but since you have the space why not go bigger? you could get some IDs and port them and they would still have good sound quality.

Which ID's are good? The IDQ?

Depends on what your brother is looking for. If he is wanting straight up SQ then the W6's and IDQ are great. If he is wanting SPL then he needs to look elsewhere.

He liked the sound of the HF's but definitely wants something louder. I think 2 w6's would definitely be louder. He is not going to compete or anything that is for sure.

Anything built by TC sounds is gonna be good stuff, but insanely expensive. W6's are also very expensive. Look into the Audioque, Digital Designs, RE, Fi, RD, Incriminator, Sundown....or if you want more mainstream then Kicker is always good.

My friend is a dealer for Digital Designs... those are pretty good then?

DD is hand built in OKC. Great quality stuff with a great company behind them. Audioque is a sister company that uses alot of the same technology but is built overseas. Generally still great quality at a much cheaper price.

A good friend of mine is selling a pair of revo's 200 each plus shipping.
Revo is a sql sub really hard to beat of course at 200 bucks.
