i have a 2001 gmc sierra and i just got a killer deal on a double din cd dvd player. and i was woundering how hard this would be to put in? also can i just use a newer dash peice made for a double din and fab up some mounts? thanks a lot

Yes, I do believe that you can just swap the dask piece and you'll be fine. You can buy a bracket kit to mount a double din to the GM mounts as well.

There is a bracket in the dash you will have to cut out to make it fit. As far as I know you will also have to move the heater controls down a little to fit the new dash trim. Its not a direct swap.

i have done a few 99-02 trucks. fairly simple. i bought the 03-07 radio bucket and bezel from a junkyard. direct bolt in with no trimming or relocating components.
