I tried to do your Dyno set up but a lot more info is needed. One has to know CFM flow, compression ratio, bore size, stroke size, etc.

I ran your set up with 4.0 bore, stock rods, 660CFM, dual plane, 9.5 compression, vortec heads in stock form and came up with

316hp at 4500-5000rpm and 397ft/lb torque at around 3500rpm. All flywheel estimated output. Of course, these numbers will be more attainable with correct tunning and correct air/fuel delivery. Vortec heads should support nearly 400hp in stock form. g/l!:rocking: Those numbers are already better than the number my 454SS puts out from the factory. Ford Lightning still had to use a supercharger to beat the SS LOL!

Hey, mind if I jump in here and see what I would get instead of posting a new thread.

50mm TB with tbi mods
Bore matched TB spacer
Holley Projection 300-66
PAR2180 Heads
Comp Cams 1317-16 Full Roller Rockers
Comp cams k12-256-4
Edelbrock Shorty's with y-pipe 66162
High Flow cats

Wouldn't know exact specs you need, but it will be tuned and everything. Any numbers would help, thanks

##s should be similar. i would say less lowend torque because the heads. vortecs have great lowend

I see, well do you think it will be very noticeable in the low end. I am still looking for great numbers in the lowend, but would like a some improvements up top also.

i couldnt tell you. i can tell you the only other head that will match the vortecs down low is the stock swirlports

They can't even match the swirl ports down low, under 3,000 rpm the swirl ports will have a handle on the Vortecs.

What kind of heads are there out there that will have great down low, and also be great up to atleast 5700rpms. Basically I would like to keep my power down low, but expand the power up top along with some giddy up
