Anyone else having problems with the bushing in their KP kits crumbling ? I had all of mine replaced last year when I had the truck backhalved . The guy that did the work did a 07 GMC with a KP kit and the truck lasted a month before the bushings all crumbled . HE told me to keep an eye on them and I found one of them crumbling when I was under the truck today . Just trying to figure out a way to keep this from happening . I dont want to replace them with the same ones that will crumble in a year or so

Call KP. They got a bad batch of bushings a while back but I would think those have been replaced by now. If they still say they are bad then just get the sizes and order up your own from energy suspension or something.

Thanks,
Chad

If you do crazy sides all the time I would switch to super pivot style ends. Just my 2 cents. Take it easy.

Cool . I have an email into them about this . I'll probably just order the ones I need to fix it till I get time to replace all of them .

Hopefully I can speak for tony, but I'm pretty sure tony doesn't hit sides all the time. Really odd how fast they are wearing out.

I dont do sides at all lol . Last time I did I ripped one of the bolts for the front sway bar out of the frame lol . I dont drag it either . Did one set and that was it . Still got a brand new set of steel blocks sitting in my room lol . A buddy of mine said to use some antiseize on everything . Dont know if that would help at all . I know its a bad enviroment under there and there arent greasable .

anti sieze is for the bolts. You need to use a good grease for the bushings.

I was going to give them a good coating just dont know what grease to use . I got some regular chassis grease for ball joints tie rods etc, white grease and some other one . I used some really sticky stuff for some sway bar bushings one time I forget who made the bars but that stuff was a pain to use . It stuck to everything lol

we buy it by the case for our heavy equipment, works well in ball joints too. Im sure you can buy some at any parts house.

Called up KP yesterday . The guy I talked to said that something must be out of wack with the rear of the truck for the bushing to get messed up . Explained that I didnt think so and he said that was the only reason the bushing would have failed . I said whatever let me just order the new ones . So I just ordered 4 new bushings and left it at that . If it becomes a major issue then I'll deal with it then .

There was this thread on GMFS where Clint from KP admitted that they had some ****ty bushing, I will find it to send that guy you talked too.

Cool . Im not going to worry about what he thinks . I'll just replace it and if it happens again then I'll look into what the guy said . He was nice enough .

I just replaced mine last week. The old ones just fell apart as I removed them. The new ones they sent me (paid for them) were made of alot harder material than the old ones.
