So Im trying to figure out what shocks I want to order from Belltech for my 4/4 approx drop. I have already dropped it by de-cranking the keys and removing the factory block, and I got 1.5" front and 2" rear, now I want to get some spindles and some shackles. I decided on 310400F for the front, and the 2214FF for the rear. When you look up the length/compressed length on a stock front it is 15"/10.375". The Belltech site shows 14.75"/10". So my ? is. Why would I buy a set of Belltechs if there is that little difference and mine are good still. I have alread lowered the front down and have had no issues. The rear stockers show 25.5"/15.375" and the Belltechs are 24.5"/15", so the same ? applies. I know the SP shocks are good shocks, but why replace when mine are good.

because the valving stack oin your stock chock is designed to work best in the few inches around stock ride height. What this means is if you put a stock shock on a lowered truck, the valving stack will be too far down in the stroke. this would make the truck feel "springy" and tend to bottm more. Use the belltechs, their cheap and designed for the drop.

Thanks alot man. Good description. I have to wait on the shocks but my supplier has the spindles and shackles on stock. So I guess I will just roll with the stockers until my Belltechs come.

that'll work. It won't necessarily harm anything (that is unless the shock bottoms out on itself) but the ride quality is gonna suck. It'll be some good motivation to get decent shocks under that rig, lol!
