Has nothing to do with a FSC, but this is one of the best audio forums i know of so i figured i would post it here and see what people can tell me

At this moment I got a hot tub with a Clarion deck, 4 speakers and the wired remote control, as pictured

Right now, i don't have the deck model number or anything, as it would mean removing it from the hot tub, which is proving more difficult then it looks, so i am in the middle of that

As it stands, the new remote we just got from ebay (old one didn't work at all when we got the tub) controls the head unit, all the buttons work... but no display at all.

We have checked for power, which there is, and even with the power unplugged, the buttons still work and control the deck. So i have gathered the power only powers the screen and has no effect on the operation of the buttons.

Now i am curious, does this remote display only work with certain decks, or any deck with a wired remote option like the one i have? I was thinking you need a deck with a "display" output feature in order for the display to work.

I have seen these exact remotes on several boats, but never saw them powered up... but would assume they wouldn't install it in a boat (or hot tub for that matter) without the screen working

Just wondering if some one can point out an obvious fact i am missing... i will work on getting the deck model. If it turns out the deck doesn't support the screen, just the controls, can anyone recommend a deck that does?

Thanks,

Scott

Deck model would be a big help.

Sorry, took a bit longer then i had hoped, kept getting side tracked

The model number is M335

I have looked on there website and nothing comes up with the model number, nor do i know which of the other 4 numbers i got they call the "product number"

The deck says right on the back that it was made in July of 2004, and there website only goes to 2005

If there is nothing more that can be done, can any one recommond a deck that works with the remote we bought?

I would call clarion and make sure that the remote you bought is compatible with the new head units. While you have them on the phone ask if they know why the one you have doesn't work.

A nicer new unit is the m475.
