well, my buddy had some trail cut in with a bobcat on hit property this past week. so i came down to help him clear out some smaller stuff and then try out some of the new trails. only issue was, we got about 1.5" of rain last night, so things got interesting. didn't have my camera while out wheeling though, only aftermath pics.

it was wet and sloppy to say the least

carnage. slid sideways, placing the passenger door square into this tree. tree-1, jeep window-0

i could barely move on this stuff, slick KY clay.

why i was actually out today in it. his jeep is stuck, has been for a week, i was the rescue vehicle to get him out. his does not run, thinking fuel related.

and mine, where it rest
busted passenger window today, broke off both mirrors, and alot of body damage, all in only about 45 minutes of trail time.

has a very bad lifter tap now. to the point i thought it was a rod knock at first, then realized it is coming from the top end. but bouncing teh rev limiter trying to move will do that i guess.

oh so close. i was actually right infront of the red jeep at one time, and managed to work my way over to where it is now. hoping to get it out this weekend if it does not rain. gonna get his yota running tomorrow hopefully, it has tractors front and rear, so he should be able to get them out.

So, why would you wreck your Jeep trying to do this?

because i can? :dunno:

no real reason. he needed the jeep out, i actually offered to try. crap happens, i live with it. i bought the jeep to do this with, the only thing i don't like is the busted window, the rest don't matter, but i really wanted to keep teh glass in it

its a broken window, not a window in the crankcase.

i hope to get some video's sunday when i go back down to try and retrieve it.

if i had remembered my camera, there would have been video's of it.

it was a blast to do though. now i have to cut a piece of lexan for the window. nothin like bullet proof glass in a beater

i am gonna try and fix the lifter tick, it quieted down quite a bit after it cooled off, so it may not be that bad. however, if it is that bad, drive it till it pukes pretty much.

i think the lift tick may be that i have never changed the oil in it since i have owned it. a good oil change, with slightly heavier weight oil could do it some good.

both jeeps are now fully extracted.

my buddy drove mine out on its own yesterday after it dried up a bit. bad news is, he busted teh drivers window, a head light, and the tail light getting it out.

got his jeep out today, still won't start. pretty sure the fuel pump is bad in it.

also, added a little 20w-50 to the Heep, and lifter tap is non existant now. :rocking:

no, he got it out while i was not there, and i couldn't pull his out and tape at the same time. mine was the only one damaged, his came out pretty much good, other than some scratches.

eh, its all good. runs like a top still, so no 350 yet. if anything, it would get the 305 that was originally bought for it last year. the weekend actually sucks, as i had three nice days i could have pretty much finished my truck up, but didn't get to work on it due to this happening, and i had to take a CPR class yesterday.

Damn! Trail = 10, Jeep = 0.

Looks like a lot of fun though. I wish I had a beater like that. No way in hell I'd take my truck down there.

which is exactly why they sat there a couple days before we got em out. now way my truck was going back there to extract them.

BTW, your score is a little off. i kicked most of the trails arse right up till that point. i was proud of the poor Heep and where it will get you in the mud. first gear bouncin the rev limiter the whole way will get you alot farther than you think it would. i would say the day ended in a tie----Trail= 5 jeep = 5

it was a blast, despite the damage. window probably won;t be fixed till winter though. we wheel with them down most of the time anyway, so why fix em now since it is warm out.
