Shock Question

I have a 3/6 drop and i just ordered DT shocks. I ordered them from Sport Truck Direct and they told me that i will need to two different shocks for the rear. When i asked why they said that they recommend using two different lenght shocks in the back and that i need to take out my shock extenders. Does anyone know if this is right? Anyone that is running DT's let me know if you are running different shocks in the rear and if you have shock extenders?

Obviously, a little different here, but yes... Running offset rear DT's without extenders.

I have DT's with a 4/6 drop and run 2 different shocks on the rear w/ shock extenders. I ordered mines from Sport Truck as well and those guys know their stuff and won't steer you wrong.

When i ordered mine they told me not to use my shock extenders.

I have a 95 ecsb and ordered and installed mines well over a year ago so with your truck being newer than mines I really have no idea as to why your 3/6 set up don't need the shock extenders. Hopefully another member with your same setup will chime in and tell you why.

You could use the shock extenders if you wanted to, there is nothing wrong with it. However, we have have had multiple complaints about the shock extenders hanging to low to the ground. Not to mention that the shock extenders are not included with most Western Chassis kit, so there would be an additional charge for them. We feel that saving you guys money for parts that you really don't need is a good thing, we could just raise our prices and start include shock extenders with each kit.

Please note: if you use shocks other than Doetsch (like Belltech), you will most likely need the extenders, lucky for you, if you get the Belltech kit they are usually included.
