View Full Version : WTB obs exhaust hanger

it is for the truck in my sig. 98 k1500 silverado, blah blah blah

apparently the part i am looking for is discontinued (according to the local dealerships), and i cannot get a new one. so, hopefully i can find someone parting one out. or willing to sell one of theirs. mine's been missing this piece for a year now since i had the exhaust re-done without any problems, it's just been irking me lately when i get underneath it and see a spot where a bracket should be, but isn't.

what i need is the bracket that bolts to the frame BEFORE the muffler. it is where the two pipes come together just before they go into the muffler. i need the bracket, the bolts, and the rubber bushing.

i will post a pic later so you can get a better visual, as i am at work right now.

I know what piece you are talking about. WHy not just go into a exhaust shop and have them tack on a hew hanger? SHould be cheap.

i've thought about that too. but i thought the original would be easier. so i wouldn't have to actually drop the vehicle off the nite before, then get it after work the next day, have someone drive me, or get my other vehicle to drive for a day. it's hard getting anything like this done when i work the same damn hours everyone else does (saturdays too), and you can't even leave to get lunch during the day cause i'm the only one here to run this damn place.

sorry for the rant. just thought it'd be easier to find someone to send me the parts to bolt right up.

well a exhaust shop can easily pop in one of there hangers. its a simply bolt in bracket and a spot weld on the pipes.

you can also just buy your own aftermarket exhaust clamps. i tried to remove mine when i modified my exhaust but those bolts would not come out for anything so i just kept them on.

I have the hanger from am 89. There have a single pipe, but the hanger may be the same at the frame.

would it be possible to get a pic of it to see wether it is the same or not for my location???
